๐ Embryo Transfer
The final step of IVF where one or more embryos are placed into the uterus using a thin catheter through the cervix.
In Detail
Embryo transfers can use fresh embryos (3-5 days after egg retrieval) or frozen embryos (FET). Most clinics now recommend single embryo transfer to reduce twins/multiples risk. The procedure takes about 5 minutes and is usually painless. After transfer, a 10-14 day wait follows before a pregnancy blood test. Success rates vary: about 40-50% per transfer for women under 35, declining with age. Blastocyst (day 5) transfers generally have higher success rates than day 3 transfers.
