The approximately 6-day period each cycle when pregnancy is possible — the 5 days before ovulation plus ovulation day itself.

Sperm can survive in fertile cervical mucus for up to 5 days, while the egg lives only 12-24 hours after release. This creates a 6-day fertile window ending on ovulation day. Peak fertility is the 2-3 days before ovulation. Having intercourse every 1-2 days during the fertile window maximizes conception chances.
