๐Ÿ“– Ultrasound

A medical imaging technique using sound waves to create images of the developing baby, uterus, ovaries, and other structures. Also called a sonogram.

In Detail

Key pregnancy ultrasounds: dating scan (6-9 weeks, confirms pregnancy/gestational age), NT scan (11-14 weeks, screens for chromosomal issues), anatomy scan (18-22 weeks, detailed review of all organs and structures), and growth scan (third trimester, monitors baby's size). In fertility, ultrasounds monitor follicle development, check for ovarian cysts, perform AFC, and guide egg retrieval during IVF. Transvaginal ultrasounds are used in early pregnancy; abdominal ultrasounds later.
