๐Ÿ“– Endometriosis

A condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain, inflammation, and potentially infertility. Affects about 10% of reproductive-age women.

In Detail

Endometrial implants can grow on ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, bladder, and other pelvic structures. Stages range from I (minimal) to IV (severe), though stage doesn't always correlate with pain severity. Endometriosis causes infertility in 30-50% of affected women through inflammation, adhesions, and ovarian cysts. Diagnosis often requires laparoscopy. Treatment includes pain management, hormonal therapy, excision surgery, and IVF for conception.
