What Is It?
Mild cramping in early pregnancy is very common and usually normal. It's caused by the uterus stretching and growing, implantation, or increased blood flow to the pelvic area. It typically feels like mild period cramps.
Common Causes
Implantation (6-12 days post-ovulation), uterus expanding, round ligament stretching, increased blood flow to pelvis, gas and bloating, constipation, or orgasm.
⚠️ When to See a Doctor
If cramps are severe or one-sided (ectopic pregnancy risk), if accompanied by heavy bleeding (more than spotting), if you have a fever, if cramps come with shoulder pain or dizziness, or if pain is sharp and doesn't go away.
💡 Tips & Management
Rest when cramps occur. Try a warm (not hot) bath or compress. Change positions slowly. Stay hydrated. Gentle walking may help. Track cramp timing and intensity in Ovuloom. Most mild cramping is normal — but always report concerns to your provider.
